Ayan M. Omar

Ayan M. Omar is a Somali American poet, born and raised on the Southside of Atlanta, Georgia. She is the child of Somali-Ethiopian refugees from the city Jig Jiga within Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State. She graduated with her degree in History & Religious Studies from Georgia State University in 2019; she hopes to work as an archivist, and later complete a Ph.D in History. Her work deals with race, identity, nationalism, religion, and trauma. Ayan can be found online @qadaadh.
