Iheoma J. Uzomba

Iheoma Uzomba, who performs as Oma is Loud, is a poet and interdisciplinary storyteller. Her work appears in Prairie Schooner, Rattle Magazine, Palette Poetry, The Chestnut Review, and The Shore Poetry, among others. She is a recipient of the Glenna Luschei Award for Poetry (2025) and the Lagos–London Poetry Prize (2022). A three-time winner of the Calgary and Vancouver Poetry Slams (2025), she is also an UNDERTOW Fellow with the Poetry Translation Centre (UK). She currently serves as Artist-in-Residence at the University of Calgary’s Libraries and Cultural Resources. Her debut poetry-theatre production, Pretty Dangerous: Four Acts on Womanhood, premiered at the Calgary Public Library in March 2026.
